Thanks for the notice funkychicky. I misread the question, and you're correct. 1 cup popped is about 8 grams. I'll go back to math class (and reading too) and get an answer for you soon.

Based on a quick experiment, it appears that 1/2 cup (4 fl oz, 120 ml) of kernels, which is what you typically need for a manual popper, weighs around 100 grams. One cup (8 fl oz, 240 ml) weighs around 200 grams. Note that jars of popcorn kernels sometimes list the contents as (for example) "net weight15 ounces". This is somewhat misleading, since the "ounces" turns out to actually be "fluid ounces" (i.e., a volume of "15 fl oz" by volume), with the actual weight (not volume) being a little bit under "14 oz".

Hi. About how many grams per cup of unpopped popcorn. If you can express this as a range - obviously fewer grams per cup of larger or drier kernels, more grams per cup of smaller or more hydrated kernels - I would appreciate it. Thanks.
